Aurora Glasgow is delighted to announce that both Grant Thornton UK LLP and PwC have completed their bespoke fit‑outs and are now fully operational within the building. The arrivals marks another significant milestone in Aurora’s journey, with 42% of the building now occupied and the fit-outs on the other let space already underway. Aurora’s only remaining available space is the Ground Floor East suite (6,202 sq ft), reflecting 96% lettings achieved across the building.
Grant Thornton secured approximately 8,500 sq ft on the eighth floor, relocating from 110 Queen Street. The fit‑out has been tailored to provide a cutting‑edge workspace aligned with Grant Thornton’s client‑service goals.
Stuart Preston, Practice Leader for Scotland at Grant Thornton UK LLP, commented:
“We’re very excited to have agreed this exceptional space in the heart of Glasgow’s business district… The building’s prime location, coupled with its impressive sustainability credentials and state of the art facilities … make it a very attractive proposition.”
PwC’s occupy 26,250 sq ft across the top two floors, making the short move across Bothwell Street from their existing office.
Robin McBurnie, PwC’s Market Senior Partner for Glasgow, said:
“The building… closely aligns with our own ethos and ambitions around net zero … Our move will strengthen our presence in Glasgow … our move to Aurora cements that place.”
With both leases activated, Aurora now stands at 96%+ occupancy, hosting major occupiers such as SSE, Pinsent Masons, Arcadis alongside Grant Thornton and PwC — a mixture of legal, energy, consultancy and accountancy firms.
The building has achieved leading environmental credentials: net zero carbon in operation, an EPC rating of 'A+', and BREEAM 'Excellent' certification. Its sustainability highlights include a 77% embodied carbon saving, renewable‑power sourcing, biophilic design elements, high‑efficiency M&E systems and a hybrid VRF heating and cooling system — all delivered in partnership with HFD Property and owner Forma Real Estate Fund.
Stephen Lewis, Managing Director of HFD Property, remarked on the momentum behind Aurora’s leasing:
“It is testament to the quality of the refurbishment work, as well as the property’s sustainability credentials and range of amenities, that we have such a high standard of corporate names in the building so soon after work [was] completed… With quality space continuing to diminish… we hope to reach 100% occupancy in the not‑too‑distant future.”
Ben Dickins, Head of Asset Management at Forma UK, added:
“Securing global brands like PwC and Grant Thornton… demonstrates that our strategy around sustainability and occupier experience is delivering results."
